Project Objectives
Long-term objective
*  Reflection of the IDP-s interests and rights in the long term strategic approach on IDP-s return/restitution issues
Immediate objectives
*  Influence on governmental policies formulation and implementation regarding IDP-s issues; 
*  Interagency links and cooperation improvement among NGOs and state agencies on national and regional levels

Project outputs
*  South Caucasian experts' network is established, designed general approach to the IDP return/restitution process solution and facilitate Policy definition process through dialogue with relevant stakeholders
*  General guidelines regarding IDP return/property restitution issues is developed
*  Expertise support to the relevant state agencies, NGOs and international organizations is provided
 
Project events

On 9 July 2007 round-table discussion on IDPs’ return/restitution policies were held at CIPDD. Discussions were organized as part of the South Caucasus Experts’ Network for IDPs’ Return/Restitution Policies Facilitation project funded by Danish Refugee Council. Leading Georgian experts: Shalva Pichkhadze, Nodar Sarjveladze and Vakhtang Kolbaia presented their analytical papers on conflict resolution and IDPs’ return issues to NGO representatives. The discussion was dedicated to three main aspects of IDPs’ return process: possible scenarios of conflict resolution and IDPs’ return process; institutional resources and mechanisms for ensuring IDPs’ return process; and IDP communities’ expectations and possible effects in regards to various options of conflict resolution and return. Representatives of Georgian Young Lawyers Association (Natia Mosashvili), IDP Women Association “Consent” (Julia Kharashvili and Liana Beria), IDP Association “Agora” (Zurab Partsvania), and Association of Georgia’s Ossetians (Tengiz Gagloev) took part in round-table discussion.
