What is the role of democracy think tanks in transitional and developing democracies – that is countries that have main democratic institutions but face substantive challenges in their functioning? International Forum for Democratic Studies linked to the National Endowment for Democracy (USA) asked nine members of the Network of Democracy Research Institutes to answer that question and has recently published a report on the issue. The paper on Georgia was contributed by CIPDD chairman, Ghia Nodia. Radio Liberty Georgian Service also reacted to the publication of the report. In the nearest days, CIPDD plans to organize a public discussion on the issue.
