On November 25th student debates were held in the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia in Tbilisi. 8 teams participated in the debates on following topics: risks related to decentralization in Georgia, human and financial resources available in regions and options for direct elections of city mayors. Team from Free University won the debates after a final match with the team from Ilia State University. Finalists were awarded with special prizes while all participants received diplomas.

On November 12, 2012, the workshop on student debates was held in Tbilisi. During the meeting the students of differnet Universities were introduced to the rules and topics of debates which will be held on November 25. The meeting was organized and hosted by Caucasus Institute for Peace, Democracy and Development/CIPDD. The meeting was organized in the framework of the project: Civil Society for Development: Decentralization and Participation in Georgia, with the financial support of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On November 3, 2012, the workshop on student debates was held in Batumi. The meeting was attended by students of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. During the meeting the students were introduced to the rules and topics of debates to be held in late November.
